FEATURED PROJECT
How to apply to British Universities
The British Council promotes the UK’s cultural and educational sector abroad. They wanted an explainer video that would show overseas students how to apply to British Universities. Their aim was to not only make the process simper to understand but to increase the number of successfully completed applications.
We suggested an approach that combined live action and animation.
The live action section used students from abroad as presenters. They shared their knowledge of completing the process and gave clear instructions. And the animated sections showed the relevant section of the online form, along with a easy to use checklist of the steps and information that applicants woud need.
We provided versions in several different languages.
”Magneto were highly organised and easy to work with and made exactly the video we needed.

Explainer videos are the best way to
Explain a new product
We’re buying more things online than ever before and whilst it’s convenient, it means buyers lack the hands on experience of trying a product. So an explainer video is an ideal way to show it in action and let people really get to know it
Demonstrate a feature
How to videos are amongst the most popular types of content because YouTube is often the first place people look they want to learn how something works. So an explainer video is a great way to show customers how your product works.
Show benefits
When your video is explaining how something works or helping customers solve a problem, you’re actually demonstrating the benefits of your product. You’re showing how easy it is to use, how effective it is and helping them gain a deeper understanding.
Attract customers & retain clients
How to videos allow new customers to understand your product in more detail or to get to know you. And they allow existing customers to get the help and support they need, bringing them back to your website and maintaining a connection.

Why do organisations make explainer videos?
The best reason that people make explainer videos is that it helps their audience – and that’s part of giving great customer service. It could be a film to explain a piece of software, to show how to use a tool, or how to carry out a simple procedure.
What are the benefits of making an explainer video?
96% of people have watched an explainer video so they are a great way to attract visitors to your website or YouTube channel. They also allow you to showcase your product or service in way that viewers find helpful and memorable: 63% of people say they’ve bought something after watching the how to video.
How much do explainer videos cost?
Because they tend to be short and contain clear concise information, explainers tend to be amongst the cheaper types of video to produce. Our budgets start at around £1500 and run up to around £4500 for a full on animated video explainer.
How long should an explainer be?
Because people are actively looking for an explainer video they don’t have to be as short and snappy as a brand video that got to grab your attention as you’re scrolling Instagram. So they can be between 90 seconds and 4 or 5 minutes. If you’ve got lots to explain, then think about breaking it down into 2 or more films.
