NHS organisational change film

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust commissioned Magneto Films as three existing NHS trusts prepared to come together as a single organisation.

The communications team needed a film that could explain the strategy behind the change while introducing staff to colleagues across the three trusts. We built the film around people working across the hospitals, showing them in their own workplaces and giving staff a sense of the colleagues who would make up the new organisation.

Filming across busy NHS workplaces

Mid and South Essex came to us with a clear idea of what they wanted to communicate and an initial draft script. We worked with the communications team to shape the film around multiple members of staff, using different people and locations to give it pace and personality.

Filming had to fit around busy clinical environments with minimum disruption to patients and staff. We worked closely with communications and clinical teams to plan the schedule, brief contributors and make people who weren’t used to being on camera feel comfortable. A prompting system allowed staff to deliver agreed information confidently without having to learn lines.

The Trust was delighted with the finished film and subsequently commissioned Magneto Films to produce further work.
