Clear information for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer

Target Ovarian Cancer commissioned a series of patient information films for women newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The films needed to provide clear, accurate and reassuring information at what can be an overwhelming time. Each film combined guidance from cancer specialists with the experiences of women who had undergone treatment.

We structured the series around individual subjects, allowing viewers to find the information most relevant to them. Two cancer specialists explain diagnosis and treatment clearly, while women with lived experience discuss their own questions, decisions and experiences of care.

Working with cancer specialists

We worked closely with Target Ovarian Cancer and its medical team to develop scripts and key points for each film. Two cancer specialists then explained ovarian cancer, diagnosis and the typical treatment pathway in clear, accessible language. The charity’s clinical team reviewed the content to ensure the information was accurate.

Including women’s lived experience

Alongside the clinical guidance, we filmed a conversation between three women living with ovarian cancer. Their discussion captured honest experiences of diagnosis and treatment, while individual interviews gave each woman space to explain her own journey and how she had coped. This combination made the films informative, personal and reassuring.
