Public sector video production

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority commissioned Magneto Films to make a suite of films, including a recruitment video, a public information film, and a series of videos to train MPs and their staff in the reporting of business expenses. Magneto frequently creates public sector video, so we were able to quickly understand their culture and the outcomes that they required from the video. To create an authentic and professional video, we suggested filming with members of their team, coaching them to deliver lines on camera and helping the process along with an autocue system. We set up a tempory studio at their offices, making the process efficient in staff time and cost effective to produce.

Training video

IPSA regulates and administers the business and staffing costs of MPs, and they needed a number of films to train MPs and their staff in how the online reporting system works and the appropriate use of expenses. We worked with their comms team to create clear, informative scripts that were delivered to camera by IPSA staff. This helps put a human face on the process and allows parlimentarians to get to know the staff who are working on their business affairs.

Recruitment video

IPSA also required 2 films to aid their recruitment process: one to explain who IPSA are and what roles are available, and another to introduce new staff to the culture and purpose of the organisation. We made 2 recruitment films that feature existing staff explaining who they are, what they do, and why they like working at IPSA. We worked hard to ensure that people came across as professional, confident and relexed, and the resulting films are full of personality and character.

Public information film

MPs business costs and expenses have been the subject of much attention in recent years, and IPSA needed a public information film to explain how MPs costs are regulated, what they can and cannot claim for, and why the process is necessary. We combined clear interviews, professionally recorded voice over with B-roll and stock footage to create an informative and polished video.
